Whether you’re in town for Halloween or all of October, here are six ways to celebrate the spooky season.
Novato's Not-So-Scary Halloween Magic Show
This year, join Novato Parks and Recreation for The Not-So-Scary Halloween Magic Show featuring Mike Della Penna. It's a magic show full of Halloween fun appropriate for all ages. This is a FREE event and no registration is required.
October 22nd at 6:00pm Doors open at 5:30pm and the show will begin at 6:00pm.
The location is at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Rd.
Fairfax Halloween Parade
Halloween is all about costumes, so why not show yours off at this year’s Fairfax parade?
Fairfax kids and parents - come one and all! -- to the annual downtown parade sponsored by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce on October 31. Meet at the Fairfax Theatre on Broadway at 4:30 pm. The parade starts at 5 pm and goes down Broadway to Bolinas and over to the Haunted Grove in Bolinas Park. Shop owners will pass out treats and the chamber will hand out neon glow necklaces. Prizes for Best costumes will be announced at approximately 6 pm in the park for best Family costume, Best Boy's costume, Best Girl's costume, and Most Creative costume.
Tick or Treat on Fourth Street
Enjoy a family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween in San Rafael with an extra surprise this year of a Pet Costume Contest!
Fourth Street merchants will be welcoming kids and families on Saturday, October 29th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Dress up, bring a bag and get ready for some treats! (or tricks). Look for the "Participating Businesses" sign in the window for some treats! Enjoy spooky live music performed by the Marin Girls Chorus in the plaza from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm! Details about the Pet Costume Contest are coming soon!
Halloween Bash at HopMonk Tavern with Mustache Harbor
Mustache Harbor is a group of dedicated and talented musicians brought together by their astrological signs and a love for vintage soft rock and sweet stashes. If we are not at the Dojo, perfecting our kick-ass moves, you will find us in, on, or near the water, producing sweet sounds as smooth as the summer sea.
Our mission, our destiny, is simple: to build a mustache army and create a Soft Rock Explosion the likes of which has not been seen since the days when Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Ace, Kenny Loggins and The Little River Band ruled the airwaves and created A.M. Gold.
So Join us on October 28th! Party with us, live with us, work out at the dojo with us, slap on a stash and drink from our bountiful coconuts filled with smooth grooves and tasty hooks.
Halloween at the Center in Mill Valley
Enjoy many fun and spooky trunks, crafts and surprises! More details coming soon.
- Date: Friday, October 28, 2022
- Time: 4:00pm - 6:00pm
- Location: Mill Valley Community Center - 180 Camino Alto, Mill Valley
If you can’t quite commit to the events featured above, consider taking part in one of Marin County’s many shopping center events. There is trick-or-treating, where store clerks will hand out candy from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as a Halloween Festival and pumpkin patch at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur. The patch is open in October seven days a week, and organic pumpkins come from Fresh Run Farm in Bolinas. The big pumpkins are great for carving jack-o-lanterns, while the Cinderella ones are yummy to eat.
