Expressive paintings and drawings from a Bay Area Legend.
A solo exhibit of work by Bay Area Figurative artist Elmer Bischoff (1916-1991). Well-known for his expressive paintings and drawings, Bischoff was a founding member of the Bay Area Figurative School in the late 1950s that included Richard Diebenkorn, Nathan Oliveira and David Park, among others. During the era, these artists became known for their “maverick” approach to art-making.
This exhibit furthers the Bischoff legacy and illuminates an artist who remains one of our 20th century Bay Area legends.
Museum Hours: Wednesday - Friday, 11am to 4pm. Saturday - Sunday, 11am to 5pm
