Tomales Bay, on the coast of Northern California, is our home where we grow, harvest, shuck and share great oysters. We began oyster farming in 1983 with the goal of raising the best quality, sustainable shellfish in a beautiful location.
We started our farm with a five-acre shellfish lease in Tomales Bay, CA raising the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas), which we call our Hog Island® Sweetwater. Today, we farm on 160 acres of intertidal lands in Tomales Bay where we raise four of the five edible oyster varieties found in the Northern Hemisphere, plus Manila clams.
Here at the farm, there are many offerings available based on your interests. We have an outdoor café with a seasonal menu to enjoy oysters and light fare, with beer and wine options available too. We also offer shuck-your-own picnic tables every Thursday (April 1st – October 31st), a General Store to purchase fresh oysters, seafood and picnic goods, and farm tours available Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays by reservation only.
The General Store is open every day 9:00am - 5:00pm except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’ Day.
