A Busy Time for Showcasing

What Is International Pow Wow (IPW)?
U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the travel industry's premier international marketplace and the largest generator of travel to the U.S. - it is NOT a typical trade show. In just three days of intensive pre-scheduled business appointments, more than 1,000 U.S. travel organizations from every region of the USA (representing all industry category components), and close to 1,200 international and domestic buyers from more than 70 countries, conduct business negotiations that result in the generation of more than $4.7 billion in future Visit USA travel. At IPW, buyers and sellers are able to conduct business that would otherwise be generated only through an exhaustive number of around-the-world trips.
Marin's Marketing and Sales Director, Christine Bohlke, attened this year's IPW in Chicago with two other Marin hotel sales leaders; Christina Niles from the Novato Courtyard Marriott and Heather Grady from the Four Points by Sheraton. Within three days they managed 83 pre-scheduled appointments along with all the other planned activities.

What is the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI)?
The AFCI Locations Show brings together hundreds of global production VIPs from independent filmmaker to industry veteran to media to film commissioner, while showcasing an unbeatable display of incentives, production locations, and business and support services.
For the first time, Marin County showcased its location as a filming destination to filmmakers, directors, producers, screenwriters, actors, agents, attorneys and scouts representing organizations from various Industry Guilds and Associations. There were well over 3500 attendees present for each of the three days, with film offices representing 20 countries from around the world. We were amazed as to the number of positive comments received on Marin County, and how appreciative people were that Marin was being showcased.
