Marin Transit Services

Marin Transit provides local bus service for Marin County, California and operates a variety of programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of residents, commuters, and visitors. rin Transit provides

Marin Transit local bus routes connect neighborhoods within the urbanized and rural areas of Marin, provide service along the 101 Corridor, and provide connections to regional transit providers that link Marin with other parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, including Sonoma County, San Francisco, and the East Bay. 

In addition to local bus service, Marin Transit offers a suite of specialized programs under the brand Marin Access. Marin Access programs and services include paratransit (for individuals with disabilities who cannot use regular public transportation), volunteer driver reimbursement programs, shuttles that serve West Marin and the more rural areas of the county, and fare assistance for those with income barriers. Marin Transit offers environmentally friendly transit options, including service using hybrid and electric buses, and encourages the use of public transportation as a way to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions. Its operations contribute significantly to reducing reliance on private vehicles in the county, which is known for its scenic but often congested roads, particularly near popular destinations like Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
