Explore the living shoreline of San Pablo Bay on a guided Wildlife Day Tour, launching from historic China Camp State Park.
Designed for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, these relaxed 3–4 hour kayaking tours move through sheltered waters, shoreline habitat, eelgrass beds, and quiet coves while offering opportunities to observe the wildlife of the North Bay. Possible sightings include harbor seals, brown pelicans, cormorants, egrets, herons, osprey, bat rays, leopard sharks, jellyfish, and other marine life.
Each tour begins with a paddling and safety orientation before heading onto the water at an easy pace. Guides pause along the way for wildlife viewing, photos, water breaks, and time to take in views of Marin's hills, Angel Island, and the surrounding bay.
No prior kayaking experience is required, and children ages 7 and older are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Kayaks, paddles, personal flotation devices, basic dry storage, and guide support are provided.
Tours are offered year-round, weather permitting, and are $115 per person. Routes and wildlife sightings vary based on tides, weather, conditions, and wildlife activity. A China Camp State Park entry fee applies.
