Heritage Trail at Marin French Cheese Company

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026

Time: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

Website

Explore more than 160 years of West Marin history along the Heritage Trail at Marin French Cheese Company, a self-guided walking experience through the historic ranch and creamery.

Created in celebration of the company's 160th anniversary, the trail connects visitors with the land, people, wildlife, and cheesemaking traditions that have sustained the ranch for generations. Informative stops along the way share different parts of the Marin French story, from the surrounding landscape and local wildlife to the fresh California milk and time-honored craft behind its artisan cheeses.

Highlights include sweeping views of the historic ranch, a locally crafted bench overlooking the landscape, a striking Blue Heron sculpture by local artist Briona Hendren, views of the working creamery, and a look toward the original hand-dug aging caves beneath the creamery.

Visitors are encouraged to slow down, enjoy the views, and find a favorite spot for a picnic along the way. Stop by the Cheese Shop before setting out for an overview of the trail and complimentary samples of Marin French Cheese.

The Heritage Trail is open year-round and is self-guided.
