Kayak & Connect's Bioluminescence Tour on Tomales Bay

Date: Saturday, November 28, 2026

Time: 5:00pm

Phone: (415) 523-3003

Website

Experience Tomales Bay after dark on a guided bioluminescence kayak tour with Kayak + Connect. Launch at twilight and paddle into the evening as the shoreline fades and, when conditions align, microscopic organisms illuminate the water with flashes and shimmering blue-green light.

Along the way, guides share the science behind bioluminescence as well as the wildlife, ecology, and natural and cultural history of Tomales Bay. Keep an eye out for harbor seals, comb jellies, leopard sharks, bat rays, and other wildlife beneath a sky away from city lights.

The three-hour tour is beginner-friendly and includes kayak rental, paddle jackets, dry bags, a pre-trip orientation, and professional guides. Tours are open to ages 13 and older and are scheduled around tides, weather, and dark nights.

Tours start at $145 per person. Because bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, its presence and brightness cannot be guaranteed.

For more information, available tour dates, and reservations, please visit the website linked above.
