Celebrate local heritage at the inaugural Marin Community History Day, hosted by the Marin History Museum on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Boyd House Garden in San Rafael.
This free, family-friendly event brings together 25 organizations dedicated to preserving and sharing Marin’s rich history for an afternoon of community connection, culture, and hands-on learning. The first 75 attendees will receive a complimentary lunch.
Visitors can explore interactive historical booths, enjoy authentic cuisine from an on-site Mexican food truck, and participate in a heritage craft area designed for all ages. Guests will also have the opportunity to join guided bilingual tours (in English and Spanish) of the museum’s newest exhibit, Rancho Roots: The Californio Legacy of Marin.
This special exhibit, the museum’s first fully bilingual installation, highlights the lasting impact of early Californio ranchos in Marin County through artifacts, family stories, and interactive displays that connect past and present.
