KWMR Day at Dance Palace Community Center

On May 2nd, we celebrate the day in 1999 when KWMR first went on the air. For 27 years, West Marin Community Radio has been a grassroots, community-powered station dedicated to creative expression and providing reliable emergency information.
To mark the occasion, we’re hosting a daytime celebration featuring DJs, food trucks, and a “No Talent Show.” The event will include a small stage where anyone is invited to step outside their comfort zone and try something new—whether it’s a dance, a song, a magic trick, or something completely unexpected.
KWMR Day is free and open to all ages, taking place from 12pm to 4pm on May 2nd.
The “No Talent Show” invites participants to embrace experimentation without judgment. Ideas include singing a song you can’t sing, performing an interpretive dance, attempting an instrument for the first time, trying to juggle, sharing a story without a punchline, or simply expressing something creative and unpolished. The goal is to have fun, take risks, and celebrate creativity in all its forms.
