Since the 1970s, Slide Ranch has welcomed Bay Area communities to its coastal farm to connect with the land, animals, and sustainably grown food through hands-on educational experiences rooted in agriculture and environmental stewardship.
This special chicken processing workshop offers participants the opportunity to learn the full process of harvesting pasture-raised birds in an educational and reflective farm setting overlooking the rugged cliffs of West Marin. Guided step-by-step by experienced instructors, participants will learn humane dispatching, scalding and plucking, evisceration, and final cleaning and chilling techniques as part of a deeper conversation about animal ethics, regenerative agriculture, and community-based food systems.
Designed to foster a thoughtful understanding of sustainable farming practices, the workshop invites guests to engage with a centuries-old tradition through respect, intention, and hands-on participation. Each participant may take home one processed chicken.
Tickets are $80 per person. This workshop is open to ages 18 and older.
