“Brush with Nature” Plein Air Event at China Camp
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026
Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Experience the beauty of China Camp State Park during a special plein air painting event where art and nature come together in real time.
Throughout the day, talented plein air artists will be stationed across the park capturing scenic landscapes on canvas. Guests can pick up a map in China Camp Village and enjoy a self-guided walking tour to discover artists painting throughout the park before returning to the village for a one-day silent auction and plein air art sale benefiting Friends of China Camp.
The event also includes hands-on painting classes for both adults and children, offering participants the opportunity to create their own plein air artwork in a relaxed and welcoming setting. No previous experience is required, and all art supplies will be provided.
Event Schedule:
10:00 am – 1:00 pm: Self-guided plein air artist tour throughout the park
10:00 am – 3:00 pm: Plein air art sale at China Camp Village
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Children’s plein air painting class (ages 6–12)
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Adult plein air painting class
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Children’s plein air painting class (ages 6–12)
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Meet the artists at China Camp Village
The event is free for Friends of China Camp members, with a suggested $5 donation for non-members. All ages are welcome, and guests under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
