Marin History Museum's Speaker Series: Marin Cults & Communes

During the 1960s and 1970s, Marin County became a magnet for communes, spiritual movements, and social experimentation. Local historian Carol Acquaviva explores the cultural forces, changing values, and distinctive landscape that drew people to Marin in search of alternative ways of living, while examining why some communities flourished and others unraveled.
