"Rising Stars" Exhibit at Bartolini Gallery Through May 29th

Youth in Arts' annual "Rising Stars" exhibit returns for its 35th year! Art teachers from 14 Marin County high schools each nominated their 12 strongest students for the juried show. Submissions are blindly adjudicated by volunteer judges Marissa Gianno (Marrow Gallery), Sarah Shepard (Sarah Shepard Gallery), and Travis Weller (Look West Gallery), with awards for best in show, best in category, merit, and honorable mention. Additional awards are provided by sponsors College of Marin, Dominican University of California, The Scott Kaplan & Laurel Graver Fund, and Riley Street Art Supply.
Participating schools include Archie Williams, Marin Academy, Marin Catholic, Marin School of the Arts, Novato High, Redwood High, San Domenico, San Marin High, San Rafael High, Tamalpais High, Terra Linda High, The Branson School, and Tomales High. "Rising Stars" was founded in 1991 by artist Susan Diglioni and has been stewarded since 2011 by emeritus board member Sheila Tuffanelli, continuing its legacy of celebrating youth creativity and artistic excellence.
