Call of the Sea Hosts Tall Ship Celebration

Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Join us for a fun filled day of family fun on the waterfront supporting a good cause! Call of the Sea is celebrating 40 years of on-the-water educational programs. This is a fundraiser for scholarships which provide life changing on the water experiences to under served youth. In addition to the many free activities, you will have a chance to support Call of the Sea with purchases of logo shirts and hats, food and beverages, sailing tickets and donations towards field trips for under-served schools.
Activities:
10:00am - 1:00pm: Tour the ship
10:00am - 1:00pm: Tie knots, make rope and learn about the art of sailing
11:00am - 2:00pm: Learn about the science of sailing, waves and much more
11:30am - 1:30pm: Paella, ice cream and beverages available for purchase
11:00am - 1:00pm: Hear old-time tunes
2:00pm - 5:00pm: Join a sail on Matthew Turner, advance ticket purchase required
In addition to touring the tall ship, brigantine MATTHEW TURNER, attendees can enjoy a tour of the Bay Model, free educational activities and old time tunes by local favorites the Waterfront Pickers, a youth choir singing sea shanties in pirate costumes, and fun educational activities by the Sailing Science Center.
