How much does the Pacific Ocean influence climate in West Marin? What effect is climate change having on the local weather and growing conditions here? We’ve asked members of The Farallon Institute, a nonprofit scientific organization dedicated to the understanding and preservation of healthy marine ecosystems, to join us for a hike around McEvoy Ranch to discuss some of the research they conduct. As we arrive at vista points around the ranch, these dedicated scientists will share, in layman’s terms, topics including the effects of natural and human based climate change, and the broad implications and influences of ocean currents, weather patterns, fishing practices and coastal development.
Join us for a moderate, hour and a half walk through our orchards and vineyards as we learn more about our local environment. We’ll make a few stops along the way to bask in the breathtaking views, with small bites and wine along the way. We’ll be greeted after the hike with a flight of three wines and more nibbles to enjoy.
