39th Annual San Rafael Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland, November 23 & 24

Time: Friday, November 23 12:00pm-8:30pm & Saturday, November 24 9:00am-12:00pm

On November 23 & 24, Downtown San Rafael will host its 39th Annual Holiday Parade & Winter Wonderland. On Friday, November 23, the event features a Holiday Marketplace with arts and crafts, live entertainment, children’s activities, free snow sledding, and one of the largest Holiday Parades in the Bay Area. Following the Parade, Santa, Ms. Claus and other costumed characters arrive with the Mayor of San Rafael to the center of town in the City Plaza to light the official Holiday Tree. Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa and friends are available for a meet and greet with the kids. On Saturday, November 24, return to Downtown San Rafael for another morning of snow and activities for the kids. (In case of rain, snow activities may be suspended if the snow sledding is a public safety issue.)

The entire event is free to the public!

Friday, November 23, 2018: Fourth Street ~ B Street to Lootens 

  • Snow Sledding 12:00pm to 4:30pm &  6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Marketplace 12:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Parade at 5:30pm

Saturday, November 24, 2018: A Street ~ Fourth to Fifth

  • Snow & Kids’ activities 9:00am to 12:00pm

 

Snow Hill Details:

  • Sleds provided at snow hill- no need to bring your own
  • Must be 15 and younger and be able to ride alone
  • Parents cannot ride with child
  • Sledding hill only, no snow play area

The Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland takes place in Downtown San Rafael off Fourth Street. Downtown San Rafael is located just off Highway 101 via the San Rafael exit, Fourth Street is on the western side of the highway. Street parking on surrounding streets and parking garages are available around the event.
