Welcome to Harbor Seal pupping season on Tomales Bay! We are seeing a huge influx of of seals in Tomales Bay on and around Hog Island making this time of year a terrific time to paddle. We have wonderful wildlife tours on calm warm days in between the storms. So come out and take a break from the hustle to relax and enjoy an amazing day filled with wildlife and the great outdoors.
This paddle takes us across Tomales Bay to Hog Island for a glimpse of harbor seals and resting waterfowl and shore birds. Once across the bay and to the western shore, we will paddle into White Gulch, keeping an eye out for Tule elk, bat rays, and leopard sharks. Floating by white sandstone cliffs, we will look for the starfish and crabs along the rocky shore. Stopping at a beach, we will enjoy a snack of fresh baked breads, local cheeses, and fresh fruit.
