The Chinese New Year – the Year of the Rooster – begins January 28. Chinese New Year or Spring Festival or Lunar New Year has a rich history behind it. Held in January or February each year, China goes on holiday, unlike the rest of the world, for seven days. It's also celebrated in other Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Many of the auspicious items that complement a Chinese New Year celebration can be found right now at the farmers' market – from De Santis Farms for all the citrus below, Brookside Orchids, and of course, Anna's Seafood for fish. Come pick up ingredients for your festivities!
Free parking, entertainment and children's activities are available.
