We invite you to join us for Richard Howell and Sudden Changes, a stellar cast of dynamic talents dedicated to the perfomance of soulful Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Pop music. This will be a special, enriching evening of music immersed in positive messages, spiritual energy, and love.

Sudden Changes, a band comprised of multi-generational musicians, pays tribute to those who paved the way for the jazz art form and perform their music in a way that is accessible to all who appreciate beautiful and resonant music. The sound celebrates diversity as it bridges, unites and merges the experience of all listeners. Its undeniable groove is guaranteed to make your body move.

Multi-instrumentalist, saxophonist, vocalist, Richard Howell has explored a vast spectrum of music. His powerful, sensually melodic saxophone playing has been heard with artists as diverse and definitive as blues/jazz/soul legends Etta James, Chaka Khan, Maurice White, Narada Michael Walden, Della Reese, Cecil Taylor, Don Cherry, BScreen Shot 2016-04-14 at 11.45.25 AMilly Higgins, Charlie Haden, Hilton Ruiz, Bernard Purdie, Buddy Guy, Bobby Watson, Regina Carter, Jimmy Smith, Charlie Musselwhite, Joe Louis Walker, Ledisi, Taj Mahal, Christian Scott, Azar Lawrence,to such progressive Latin/Afro/rhythmic pioneers as Willie Bobo, Bill Summers, Airto Moreira, Pete Escovedo, Mingo Lewis, John Santos, James Henry His prodigious skills and talents as producer and musician have been shared with Babatunde Lea, Vivendo de Pao, The Mo’ Rockin Project, Omar Sosa, el Houssaine Kili, Upsurge, The Supplicants. In summer 2008, Richard was guest performer with Carlos Santana in Leipzig, Germany. He was a special guest of Salif Keita at Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley, California. Richard has also performed at the Mali Music Conservatory with Fra Fra Sound and Tumani Dibate in Bamako, Mali, West Africa.

Throckmorton Theatre is located at 142 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley, 94941. There is ample street and city parking available around the theatre. Please be sure to observe all posted signs regarding parking and parking meters, and do not park in prohibited spaces or areas.
