Elizabeth Hill, the owner and operator of West Marin Food & Farm Tours, is a certified Natural Chef, a UC Master Gardener, a Stanford graduate, and a credentialed teacher with a Masters degree in Education. She has had a life-long love affair with West Marin and is delighted to have combined her passions for food, gardening, education, and travel into her culinary tour company.
Elizabeth's great-grandparents started coming to Inverness in the late 1800's, when they arrived by train and horse-drawn carriage. As a child, Elizabeth grew up sailing on Tomales Bay with her grandfather, picking huckleberries for her grandmother's famous tarts, swimming and picnicking at the local beaches, and running in the annual Fourth of July marshmallow race. She is thoroughly endeared to the land and is committed to supporting the community.
The idea for West Marin Food & Farm Tours came quite organically. In the spring of 2012, Elizabeth invited her culinary school friends to a weekend retreat in Inverness. She took them all on a tour of local delicacies and after a fun-filled day of cheese tasting, wine tasting, and oyster tasting, they decided Elizabeth was destined to start a culinary tour company...and thus Food and Farm Tours was born! Elizabeth is delighted to be able to share her love and knowledge of West Marin's incredible food culture with her guests.
