Let’s Support Local artists and artisans for a “Made in Marin” Holiday Season.

The Marin Convention & Visitors Bureau has made shopping a bit easier for all you discerning shoppers during this year’s challenging holiday. Visit our Curbside Pickup and In-Store Shopping webpage to find out how Marin retailers are making it more convenient than ever to shop locally.

Here are a few online Fa La La suggestions on some imaginative online shopping from the comfort of your home.

MarinArts first-ever Holiday Art Directory makes it easier for online shoppers to connect with locally-created artwork and artisan products this holiday season. The directory features direct links to artists and artisans with local studios and works for sale. It's also a place to discover the Marin-based organizations that provide ongoing structure for working artists all year round. Use it as your best shopping guide for gifting locally created items and surprise friends with your originality!

Fairfax: The Town of Fairfax is bringing it all online this year with a wonderful selection of vendors, some new to the normal indoor Craft Faire held at the Pavilion, and some very old and true. There will be a few vendors planning to do small, outdoor pop ups. Check back for details.

Want to help protect Marin’s open space during these trying times and get some amazing artwork? The Fairfax and San Anselmo Open Space Committees would like you to do some creative online shopping and purchase a Wonderfully Wild Marin 2021 Calendar. Sit back, get your shopping done early, and let’s all visualize a brighter and better 2021!

Mill Valley: O’Hanlon Center for the Arts is a unique community-focused art center, and this year most artwork on display is available for purchase. Proceeds from sales support local artists and the O’Hanlon Center as a non-profit organization. Don’t miss their online holiday sale featuring small works, crafts and holiday adornments now through December 31st.

The image Flow: Give the gift of Photography to that special photographer in your life. The Image Flow has curated a list of the very best gifts for all levels of enjoyment. Think online photography workshop or class for that beginner or a new lens for photo buff. A photography gift card will go a long way too, for custom printing or one-on-one sessions later in the year.

Ross: The Shop at the Marin Art and Garden Center is your new online resource for a curated collection of beautiful, useful items for the home and garden. You would be supporting a local business since all purchases benefit the Marin Art and Garden Center. All items are available for pickup only with specified days and times.

San Rafael: Art Works Downtown has created many online programs available to keep those creative juices flowing which include a variety of virtual art receptions such as the Second Friday Virtual Art Walk.

They recently received the green light to re-open their main 1337 Gallery for limited weekend hours, and the gallery is now offering its annual “Small Works Exhibition” for in-person viewing with strict Covid-19 safety protocols and social-distancing rules in place. “The Small Works Exhibition” now through December 23rd from noon to 5:00 p.m. weekends only.

The Marin Society of Artists presents the 93rd Annual Fine Art Exhibition. The show has been held every year since 1927, through good times and bad. This year the Annual show will be presented ONLINE. The prize winners for this exhibition were chosen by Kathleen Lipinski and Steve Emery, well known Marin artists.
